NETSCAPE 4.7x SET UP

You can have Netscape Communicator at :

Here's how to configure Netscape 4.7.

who has the e-mail : james@exemple.com

Step 1 : Open Netscape Communicator by double-clicking on its icon

Step 2 : Click on "Edit". A pull-down menu appears. Sélect "Preferences". A configuration panel will appear.

Step 3 : To configure the mail, select « Mail and Newsgroups ». New options appear in the tree. Click on « Identity ». Enter your « Name » and your « e-mail address » in the appropriate fields, as shown below.

Step 4 : Then click on « Mail servers » always in the left window. Click « Add » to create a new account.

Step 5 : On the « General », insert mail.exemple.com as « Name Server ». Select POP3 under « Mail server type ». Enter jsmith% example.com « Mail server username ». Click OK. This is the sign %.

Step 6 :Now you can see the account you created (mail.exemple.com). Introduce the outgoing mail address given by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as « Outgoing Mail Server ». For example: relais.videotron.ca for Videotron or relay.skynet.be for Skynet smtp.votreISP.com or for other companies. Click OK.
